Uniquely beautiful! The flower petals that enclose the Peking glass beads make this necklace an unusual variation on the bookchain necklaces so popular during this time period. All of the metal on this lovely piece is brass gilded with gold. The Peking glass beads are an enchanting shade of sea green. Between the brass flowers and hanging from their tips are small brass dangles. These make a soft jingling sound when the necklace moves. Overall condition is very good with no damage to the metal. There are a few areas where the gold has worn away and the tarnished brass beneath is showing through. This can of course be polished so that the entire piece gleams like gold. I will leave that up to the purchaser. The beads are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few minor surface imperfections on the beads consistent with their age but nothing major that would detract from the beauty of the necklace. The older spring ring clasp is in excellent working condition.
