Vintage Crystal and Brass Fringe Necklace

This vintage crystal fringe necklace sparkles with aurora borealis lights. Comprised of brass and cut glass beads with an aurora borealis finish. This necklace is somewhat puzzling. The necklace style was popular in the 1920s and 1930s and is hallmarked 'Germany,' which should date it to pre-1945. The brass has aged to a lovely patina and upon very close inspection, there have been no detectable changes made to the necklace so the beads are original to the necklace. But, the beads definitely have an aurora borealis finish which was not used until the mid 1950s. Extremely Fine condition with no damage to metal or beads. Very slight wear to the aurora borealis finish on some of the beads. The beads at the front of the necklace start at 12mm in size and taper to 6mm at the ends. Regardless of its provenance, this is an incredibly beautiful vintage necklace. Closes with a hook and is adjustable so that you can wear it as a choker or a little longer. Gift boxed. (The box is not vintage.)

Length: 17 inches from end to end. Hangs 1.5 inches at center graduating to 1 inch at ends.
