Glowing golden topaz glass! This necklace is a delight! Comprised of a brass paperclip chain, faceted topaz glass and enameled brass. The faceted hexagonal glass pieces are bezel set in close backed hexagonal pieces of silver gilded brass. The edges of the settings are stamped with a pattern and immediately adjacent to the stones, enameled golden yellow. In between these settings are silver vermeil (silver gilded brass) spacer pieces designed with a scrollwork pattern and enameled in white and golden yellow. The overall condition is very good with no damage to enamel, glass or metal. All of the enamel is present. The white enamel has aged in some areas to an off white. As you can see in my closup photos, most of the silver has worn off the brass.Rather than being unattractive, the loss of silver adds to this particular necklace's vintage charm. Not always the case with older silver vermeil pieces. The necklaces closes with a spring ring clasp that is in good working condition.
