Ornately engraved set of three Victorian bangle bracelets. These are not marked with gold content but the age and the very golden color of the bracelets would suggest a gold wash of 15ct. Most 19th century jewelry is 15ct. Two of these bracelets are stamped with Pat. March 12, 1878. Until 1850, jewelry was hand made. These appear to be very high quality machine made bracelets. The clasps are all in very good working condition. The safety chains appear to be original. The narrowest of the three is not marked but is engraved inside with the initials of the bracelet's owner. It was the style of Victorian ladies, to wear multiple bracelets on both arms. These were purchased as a set, so I am offering them as a set. Overall condition is Extremely Fine with no dents, damage or repairs. There are slight signs of wear on the insides and pin hole size pitting of the gold wash, revealing the darker base metal beneath. Base metal type unknown. These bracelets are extremely light in weight so the base metal does not appear to be brass. For their age, the condition is quite remarkable. I very seldom find bracelets of this age with the safety chains intact and the hinges showing no signs of repair. The bracelets will comfortably fit a size 6 inch or smaller wrist. Slightly snug on a 6 inch wrist. A delightfully beautiful set. Gift boxed.(jewelry boxes are not antique or vintage)
