Victorian Brass Lily Festoon Necklace

Click on a thumbnail image to see enlarged images.

Victorian gilded lilies ornament this lovely festoon necklace. Created from brass that has been washed with gold. The engraved chain swags between the lilies feature taille d'epergne enamel work. Very fine condition with no damage to metal. Very slight loss of enamel on a few links of the chain swags. Not noticable except upon close examination with a loupe. The original gold wash has worn away revealing the brass beneath which has aged to a very nice patina. The copper ring that connects the festoon portion of the necklace to the rest of the chain, is original to the necklace. It is actually a larger piece of copper with a ring at the end that is soldered to the backs of the small lilies. When worn, the bottom of the large lily hangs approximately 4 inches from the hollow at your throat. Hallmarked, Pat Pend. The necklaces closes with a spring clasp that is in excellent working condition. Gift boxed.(The box is not antique or vintage.)
