1960s Gold Egyptian Revival Scarab Bracelet

A most unique Egyptian Revival scarab bracelet from a 1960s curiosity shop in Laguna Beach. Purchased from the owner of the shop who went out of business many years ago, but who had hung onto some of the more unusual pieces that she had acquired. Handcrafted by an unknown artist from a very lightweight metal and finished in gold. The only information the previous owner has about the piece is that it was cast from authentic vintage pieces. The very large beetle has been glued to the floral background. The metal at first glance, looks like aged brass but is much to light and one can also see the signs of a skillfully painted finish on the metal. The scarab beetle was considered to be divine by the ancient Egyptians, a symbol of immortality and rebirth. 9-1/2 inches from end to end but 7-1/2 inches long when closed. The scarab is 2-1/4 inches x 1-1/2 inches. The floral background is 3-1/2 inches wide. Extremely Fine condition with no damage or repairs. Closes with a toggle type clasp. The size is not adjustable but one could easily remove a few links to make the bracelet smaller. Gift boxed. (The box is not vintage.)
